Bohuslav Reynek in Periodicals of Josef Florian

Abstract:

Anotace Práce si klade za cíl popsat literární spolupráci básníka, grafika a překladatele Bohuslava Reynka a staroříšského překladatele a vydavatele Dobrého Díla Josefa Floriana v oblasti sborníkových překladů francouzsky psané literatury. Úvodní kapitoly přibližují osobnost Josefa Floriana, vznik staroříšského vydavatelství, princip jeho fungování a spektrum vydávaných publikací. Nastiňují rovněž počátky Reynkovy spolupráce s vydavatelstvím a jeho vztah k Florianovi. Následuje analýza Reynkova překladatelského stylu. V dalších kapitolách je předkládán soubor Reynkových překladů z francouzštiny, publikovaných ve staroříšských sbornících Nova et Vetera a Archy. Pro výklad je zvolen systém stručných komentářů a ukázek, jimiž lze dobře doložit rozmanitost žánrů i stylů, které je Reynek coby překladatel schopen tlumočit. Jednotlivé překlady jsou seskupeny podle autorů, blízkých si alespoň v některém aspektu tvorby, případně též žánrově či námětově. Jako příloha je připojen soupis všech Reynkových příspěvků do sborníkových edic Josefa Floriana, tj. otištěných básní, recenzí a překladů z francouzštiny, němčiny a dalších jazyků.

Abstract:

Annotation The intended goal of the thesis is to describe the cooperation of the poet, graphic artist and translator Bohuslav Reynek and the translator and editor of Dobré Dílo publishing Josef Florian from Stará Říše in the field of periodical translations from literature written in French. The opening chapters deal with Josef Florian's personality, the rise of his publishing company, the principle of its functioning and the specter of publications. They also sketch the beginnings of Reynek's cooperation with the publishing company and his relation to Florian, followed by the analysis of Renyek's translation style. In the next chapters it deals with the collection of Reynek's translations from French, which were published in the Stará Říše periodicals Nova et Vetera and Archy. The interpretation is structured on the bases of a system of concise comments and passages, with which it is possible to exemplify the variety of genres and styles that are not difficult to interpret by Reynek. The translations are grouped according to authors, who are near to one another at least in terms of some similar aspects in their works, genre and subject. As a supplement there is a list of all Reynek's contributions to periodical editions of Josef Florian, such as printed poems, reviews and translations from French, German and other languages.
