Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na roli afroamerických vojáků v americké občanské válce. Soustředí se na jejich zázemí, vojenskou účast, sociální postavení a politické příspěvky. První část popisuje příčiny války, otázku otroctví a rozdíly mezi Unií a Konfederací. Práce dále zkoumá postavení afroamerických vojáků, jejich přínosy a výzvy, kterým čelili. Jsou zmíněny klíčové osobnosti, jako Frederick Douglass a Harriet Tubman, spolu s jejich přínosem. Kromě toho práce zkoumá významné bitvy, ve kterých afroameričtí vojáci hráli důležitou roli. Diplomová práce končí diskusí o emancipaci, 13. dodatku ústavy a trvalém vlivu Afroameričanů na občanskou válku a americkou společnost.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to explore the role of African American soldiers in the American Civil War. It focuses on their background, military involvement, social status, and political contributions. The first part describes the causes of the war, the issue of slavery, and the differences between the Union and the Confederacy. The thesis further examines the position of African American soldiers, their contributions, and the challenges they faced. Key figures such as Frederick Douglass and Hariet Tubman are mentioned, along with their contributions. In addition, the thesis explores key battles in which African American soldiers played a significant role. My thesis concludes with a discussion of emancipation, 13th Amendment, and the lasting impact of African Americans on the Civil War and on American society.
