The European Union-North Atlantic Treaty Organization cooperation in the framework of the Common foreign and security policy

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Spolupráce Evropské unie a Severoatlantické aliance v rámci Společné zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky je věnována vztahu EU-NATO v oblasti vnějších zahraničních, bezpečnostních a obranných otázek. V práci je propojena teoreticko-deskriptivní a komparativní analýza s konkrétním případem v podobě uskutečněné vojenské spolupráce EU a NATO. Cílem je předložit průběh vývojového procesu zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky EU v kontextu s bezpečnostní a obrannou politikou NATO a zhodnotit úlohu obou organizací především v evropském bezpečnostním prostředí mezinárodních vztahů. Strukturálně je práce koncipována způsobem, aby vedle teoretického vymezení samotné bezpečnostní otázky, co nejlépe zachytila vývoj bezpečnostní dimenze EU a NATO od 90. let 20. století na pozadí teoretických přístupů mezinárodních vztahů a v neposlední řadě také samotnou spolupráci obou aktérů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis Cooperation of the European Union and NATO in the framework of the Common Foreign and Security Policy is devoted to the EU-NATO relationship in external foreign, security and defense issues. The work is linked to a theoretical-descriptive and comparative analysis with a specific case in the form of military cooperation made by the EU and NATO. The aim of this thesis is to present the development process of foreign and security policy in the context of security and defense policy NATO and to evaluate the role of both organizations, primarily in the European security environment of international relations. Structurally, the thesis is conceived in such a way as to best capture next to the the theoretical definition of the security issues, the development of the security dimension of EU and NATO since 90s of the 20th century to the background theoretical approaches of international relations and, last but not least, the very cooperation between these two actors.
