Temporal changes in activity and diversity of bats at the cave entrances

Abstract:

Výzkum netopýrů v Moravském krasu probíhal v letech 2012-2014 na šesti lokalitách (Sloupské jeskyně, jeskyně Hladomorna, Kateřinská jeskyně, Býčí skála, Ochozská jeskyně a Netopýrka) a hodnoty byly porovnávány s těmi, které byly získány při odchytových akcí v letech 1992-1994 a byly navrženy podle metodiky probíhající před dvaceti lety. V letech 1992-1994 bylo během 39 odchytů (224 odchytových hodin) zaznamenáno 1414 kusů netopýrů celkem 15 druhů. Při stejném počtu odchytů (215 odchytových hodin) bylo v letech 2012-2014 zaznamenáno 1006 kusů netopýrů 16 druhů. V letech 1992-1994 byl nejpočetnějším druhem Myotis myotis, M. daubentonii a M.nattereri. V letech 2012-2014 dominovali M. myotis, Rhinolophus hipposideros, M. emarginatus a M. daubentonii. V průběhu dvaceti let vymizel druh M. blythii, ale byla zjištěna přítomnost dvou nových druhů: M. alcathoe a Pipistrellus pipistrellus. Téměř u všech druhů mimo M. myotis převažovali v letech 1992-1994 signifikantně samci. V letech 2012-2014 se převaha samců týkala všech druhů. V poměru věkové struktury převažovali v letech 1992-1994 signifikantně nedospělí jedinci, v letech 2012-2014 byla statisticky průkazná převaha dospělých netopýrů. V průběhu dvaceti let došlo k poklesu aktivity v průběhu sezón. V letech 1992-1994 byla relativní aktivita 6,5 ks/hod, v letech 2012-2014 to bylo 4,7 ks/hod. Pro posouzení noční letové aktivity byla noc rozdělena na 4 části (1-4) a začínala západem Slunce a končila ve 24:00 SEČ. Hodnocena byla i část noci 0, která zaznamenávala jedince, kteří byli odchyceni ještě před západem Slunce. V letech 1992-1994 i 2012-2014 byly zjištěny signifikantní rozdíly mezi danými částmi noci.

Abstract:

Research of bats was carried out in the Moravian Karst on six locations (Sloupské caves, cave Hladomorna, Kateřínská cave, Býčí skála, Ochozská cave and Netopýrka) from 1992 to 1994 and the values were compared with those obtained during netting events in 2012-2014, designed under the current methodology twenty years ago. Between 1992 and 1994 there were registered 1414 individuals of bats of 15 species and this done during 39 net-nights (224 net-hours). With the same number of nettings (215 net-hours) there were observed 1006 individuals of 16 species from 2012 to 2014. The most abundant species in years 1992-1994 was Myotis myotis, M. daubentonii and M. nattereri. Later in 2012-2014 dominated M. myotis, Rhinolophus hipposideros, M. emarginatus and M. daubentonii. During those twenty years disappeard species of M. blythii, but there were detected two new species: M. alcathoe and Pipistrellus pipistrellus. In almost all species, except M. myotis, there significantly dominated males in 1992-1994. In 2012-2014 there was a prevalence of males in all of the species. The proportion of the age structure significantly prevailed with juveniles between 1992-1994. In 2012-2014 there was statisticallysignificant majority of adult individuals of bats. In last twenty years activity during the season declined. In 1992-1994 there was a relative activity 6,5 ind./h. In 2012-2014 it was 4,7 ind./h.. For assesment of nocturnal activity, night was divided into four parts (1-4) and started after sunset and ended by 24.00 CET. There was also evaulated a part of the night called „0“, that registered individuals caught before sunset. In 1992-1994 and 2012-2014 there were significant differences among parts of the night identified.
