Evaluation of the efficacy of physiotherapy treatment for Dupuytren's disease

Abstract:

This thesis aims to analyse the effectiveness of different physiotherapy techniques in the treatment of Dupuytren's disease, evaluating the functional results and possible complications associated with each intervention. Through a systematic literature review, the main physiotherapy strategies used in the treatment of Dupuytren's disease were selected, including manual therapy, mobilisation exercises, stretching and instrumental therapies. For each technique, studies evaluating its effectiveness in improving function, reducing pain and preventing recurrence were analysed. The results indicate that physiotherapy, in particular manual therapy and mobilisation exercises, can be an effective approach to improve function and reduce pain in patients with the condition, both preoperatively and postoperatively.

Abstract:

La presente tesi si propone di analizzare l'efficacia delle diverse tecniche di fisioterapia nel trattamento del Morbo di Dupuytren, valutando i risultati funzionali e le possibili complicazioni associate a ciascun intervento. Attraverso una revisione sistematica della letteratura, sono state selezionate le principali strategie fisioterapiche utilizzate nel trattamento del Morbo di Dupuytren, tra cui terapia manuale, esercizi di mobilizzazione, stretching e terapie strumentali. Per ciascuna tecnica, sono stati analizzati gli studi che ne hanno valutato l'efficacia in termini di miglioramento della funzione, riduzione del dolore e prevenzione delle recidive.
