Analysis of selected substances from Aloe Vera plants using chromatographic methods

Abstract:

Teoretická část diplomové práce je změřena na charakterizaci rostliny Aloe vera z botanického i chemického hlediska. Důraz je kladen na její významné obsahové látky, na jejich vlastnosti a to jak z chemického, tak farmakologického aspektu. Praktická část naplňuje cíl diplomové práce, kterým bylo pomocí chromatografických metod analyzovat vybrané skupiny látek rostliny Aloe vera. Analýza je soustředěna na metody plošné a kolonové chromatografie a především na metody, které jsou vhodné k provozní kontrole při průmyslovém zpracování. Získané výsledky jsou vyhodnoceny dostupnými metodami a to jak z hlediska kvalitativního, tak kvantitativního. Dále jsou výsledky statisticky zpracovány a na závěr celkově vyhodnoceny.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the dissertation is focused on characterization of Aloe vera plant from both botanical and chemical point of view. Emphasis is laid on the important substances contained in it and its properties with consideration of both chemical and pharmacological aspects. The aim of the whole dissertation is the practical part; it consists in analysing suitable groups of Aloe vera plant using chromatographic methods. The analysis is focused on the methods of area and column chromatography and in particular on the methods that are suitable for operational monitoring during industrial processing. The results obtained are assessed using the methods available from both qualitative and quantitative point of view. The results are also processed statistically and evaluated generally in the conclusion.
