Restructuring of spa destination offers due to changing trends in demand

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu Restrukturalizace nabídky lázeňských destinací vlivem změny trendů v poptávce. Teoretická část se zaměřuje především na problematiku lázeňství a to jednak z hlediska tradice v lázeňství v České republice, ale také z pohledu legislativního – z pohledu začlenění lázeňství do zdravotnických služeb. Zabývám se také hlediskem daní a místních poplatků, které souvisí s poskytováním lázeňských služeb. Wellness je vymezeno stručněji, v zásadě pro dokreslení obrázku a možnost tyto dva fenomény porovnat z více úhlů pohledu. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na lázeňství v České republice – jednak jsou posouzeny statistiky návštěvnosti a dále jsou naznačeny směry restrukturalizace nabídky lázeňských destinací. V návrhové části jsou tři oblasti doporučení – marketing lázeňské destinace, medical wellness a kooperace poskytovatelů wellness a lázeňských služeb a využití příjmů z místních poplatků pro další podporu cestovního ruchu v lázeňské destinaci.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of Restructuring of spa destinations offer due to changes in trends of demand. The theoretical part focuses on the issue of spas in terms of tradition in the spa industry in the Czech Republic but also in terms of legislation: spa as the part of medical services. I also deal with the aspect of local taxes and fees associated with the provision of spa services. Wellness is defined succinctly, in principle, to illustrate the image and the ability to compare these two phenomena from multiple points of view. The practical part focuses on spas in the Czech Republic – I assess visitor statistics and also give guidelines for restructuring the offer of spa destinations. The proposal part of this diploma thesis is divided into three areas of recommendations – the first: marketing of a spa destination, the second: medical spa and cooperation of medical and spa services, and the third: using revenues from local taxes to further promote tourism in the spa tourism destination.
