Kyselina askorbová je jedním z hlavních metabolitů v rostlinách. Je to důležitý antioxidant a ve spolupráci s ostatními složkami antioxidačního sytému chrání rostliny proti poškození reaktivními formami kyslíku, jejichž tvorba je důsledkem aerobního metabolismu rostlin, fotosyntézy a působení patogenů, sucha, extrémních teplot nebo dalších fyzikálních i chemických jevů. Abstract:
Ascorbic acid is one of the main metabolites in plants. It is an important antioxidant, and in cooperation with other components of the antioxidant system, protects plants against damage caused by reactive oxygen species.
