Odorology and its use in forensic practice

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využíváním psů ve služebním poměru. Cílem práce je prokázání skutečnosti, že služební psi jsou nepostradatelní pro práci ve službách lidí. V práci se nachází průřez prvních počátků práce služebních psů, vysvětluje dva hlavní pojmy, kterými je olfaktorika a olfaktronika. Dále se zabývá samotnou metodou pachových konzerv, otázkou, co je to pach, stopa a pachová stopa. V teoretické části se pojednává o požadované osobnosti psovoda a vhodnosti psa pro služební poměr. Vymezuje, v kterých hlavních činnostech psi lidem pomáhají a jaká negativa práci se psem ovlivňují. Závěrem samotné práce je vlastní dotazníkové šetření zaměřené na psovoda a služebního psa.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the use of dogs in employment. The aim of the work is to prove the fact that service dogs are indispensable for people and their work. The thesis contains a cross-section of the first beginnings of the work of service dogs, explains two main concepts, which are olfactory and olfactronics. It also deals with the method of scent’s cans, the question of what is scent, clue, and scent clue. The theoretical part describes the required personality of the handler and the suitability of the dog for service. It defines in which main activities dogs help people and what negatives affect the work with the dog. The conclusion of the work is its questionnaire survey focused on the handler and service dog.
