DEFENSE MECHANISMS OF LONG-TERM HOSPITALISED ADOLESCENT (occurrence, frequency and temperament correlation)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou psychiky dlouhodobě hospitalizovaných adolescentů se zvláštním zřetelem na jejich obranné mechanismy. Teoretická část je složena ze tří kapitol, první popisuje teorii obranných mechanismů, druhá psychický vývoj zdravého adolescenta a třetí psychiku dlouhodobě hospitalizovaných jedinců. Praktická část se zaměřuje na zkoumání výskytu a četnosti různých typů obranných mechanismů a posouzení možných korelací s temperamentem. Pro výzkum je zvolena metoda vlastního dotazníku a Eysenckova osobnostního dotazníku. Výzkum ukazuje, že spektrum obranných mechanismů u dlouhodobě hospitalizovaných adolescentů je velké, přesto se dají nalézt určité společné prvky míry extraverze, popř. neuroticismu a preference obranných mechanismů, a tím částečně predikovat chování pacienta v nemocnici.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the psyche of long-term hospitalized adolescents with special reference to their defense mechanisms. The theoretical part consists of three chapters, the first describes the theory of defense mechanisms, the second, psychological development of healthy adolescent psyche and the third, long-term hospitalized patients. The practical part is focused on examining the occurrence and frequency of different types of defense mechanisms and assessment some possible temperamnt correation. The research method chosen is a self filled questionnaire and the Eysenck Personality Inventory. Research shows that the incidence of defense mechanisms for long-term hospitalized adolescents is high, still we can find some common elements of extraversion or neuroticism and trends of defense mechanisms, and thus can partially predict the behavior of the patient in the hospital.
