August 1968 through the eyes of witnesses in a small village.

Abstract:

Má bakalářská práce se na základě metody orální historie věnuje pohledu několika pamětníků z malé vesnice na období šedesátých a sedmdesátých let 20. století, přičemž jádro práce sleduje, jak tito lidí vnímali srpnovou okupaci v roce 1968. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část, která se zabývá orální historií, popisuje historii orální metody a také samotnou práci s ní. Tato část je zakončena stručným nástinem československých dějin od počátku 60. let až do nástupu normalizace. Praktická část nejprve popisuje jednotlivé vzpomínky pamětníků na 21. srpen 1968 a jejich následné vyrovnávání se s celou situaci. V závěru této části je pozornost věnována roli náboženství v životech pamětníků a postoji místní farnosti k okupaci.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis is based on the oral history method and attends to the view of several witnesses from a small village of age of sixties and seventies of 20th century. The core of the thesis describes how these people perceived the occupation in August 1968. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part, which deals with oral history, describes history of the oral method and also work with this method. This part ends with a brief outline of Czechoslovak history from the early sixties until the establishment of normalization. Practical part describes the memories of witnesses of 21 August 1968 and their subsequent coping with the situation. At the end of this part attention is paid to the role of religion in the lives of witnesses and the attitude of local parish towards occupation.
