The Impact of PSD2 on banking sector of European Union

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou směrnice PSD2, která významně ovlivnila situaci bankovního sektoru Evropské unie. Dále se práce zabývá analýzou fintechových společností a to nejen v Evropě, ale také v ostatních státech po celém světě. Cílem této práce je definovat směrnici PSD2 a zhodnotit vývoj finančně technologických společností, ale také dopad současného trendu digitalizace na vývoj bezhotovostních plateb. Přínosem této práce, je tedy zkoumání dopadu směrnice PSD2, ale pouze z kvalitativní části. Směrnice je nová, a tak kvantitativní výsledky ještě nejsou k dispozici.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is to analyse the PSD2 directive, which very significantly influenced the situation of banking sector of European Union. The further topic of this thesis is to analyse fintech companies, which have been developed not only in Europe, but also in another countries in the world. The main goal of this thesis is to define the PSD2 directive and evaluate the fintech development, but also to evaluate the nowadays trend of digitalization on non-cash payments. The contribution of this thesis is to research the impacts of PSD2, but only from qualitative part, because there are no results nowadays, as the PSD2 is a new directive implemented in 2018.
