The world of the child's hero in the work of Colette Vivier

Abstract:

This thesis The world of the child's hero in the work of Colette Vivier deals with the main characters of two novels written by a French author whose work was devoted to children and young people. This detailed study is focused on what these characters are like, what are their qualities or how their behaviour changes according to their own experiences. The author set her stories in the 1930s and in the Second World War which she experienced on her own. Her style of writing, based on dialogues, is very simple and comprehensible and so easily accessible to young readers even these days.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce nazvané Svět dětského hrdiny v díle Colette Vivier je podrobná studie hlavních dětských postav dvou románů francouzské autorky píšící pro děti a mládež. Zaměřuje se především na to, jací tito hrdinou jsou, jaký je jejich charakter či jak se mění jejich chování v závislosti na jejich prožitcích. Autorka zasadila své příběhy do období 30. let 20. století a do období 2. světové války, kterou sama zažila a odkud čerpá své vlastní zkušenosti. Její jednoduchý a snadno srozumitelný styl psaní založený na dialozích je přístupný mladým čtenářům i v dnešní době, a to i díky tématům jako jsou přátelství, solidarita či tolerance.
