Hydraulic parameters of Rožná stream riverbed

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je určení hydraulických parametrů dnových sedimentů potoka Rožínka. V této oblasti se nacházel poslední činný uranový důl v ČR Rožná, jehož činnost byla z důvodu vývoje cen uranu na světových trzích ukončena k 31. 12. 2017. V případě zatopení dolů je třeba zajistit dekontaminaci důlních vod, které dotuje mimo jiné i potok Rožínka. Z tohoto důvodu je třeba znát hydraulické parametry a gradienty, které ovlivňují infiltraci povrchových vod do důlních vod. Tyto parametry byly měřeny hydrodynamickými zkouškami na potoce Rožínka, konkrétně nálevovými zkouškami a mini-piezometry. Během měření byly určeny hydraulické gradienty vymezující místa infiltrace povrchových vod potoka Rožínka do horninového prostředí. Krom toho byly vypočteny hydraulické vodivosti dnových sedimentů, což umožnilo určit specifický objemový průtok podzemní vody přes sediment v místě měření. Výsledné hodnoty hydraulických parametrů dnových sedimentů jsou velmi proměnlivé. V místě důlní činnosti byl identifikovaný hydraulický gradient často sestupný, což naznačuje infiltraci povrchových vod do hlubinného díla.

Abstract:

The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to determine the hydraulic parameters of the riverbed sediments of the Rožínka stream. Rožná, the last functioning uranium mine in the Czech Republic whose operation was terminated on 31. 12. 2017 due to the world market uranium price developement, could be found in the area. If the mine floods, the underground mine water needs to be decontaminated. This water is fed by, but not limited to, the Rožínka stream. For this reason, the hydraulic parameters and gradients, which influence the infiltration of the surface water into the groundwater, have to be measured. These parameters were measured by using hydrodynamic tests on the Rožínka stream, namely slug tests and mini-piezometers. In the course of the testing hydraulic gradients defining places of surface water infiltration were determined. Moreover, the hydraulic conductivity of the riverbed sediments was calculated, which allowed the determination of specific volumetric flow rate of the groundwater through the sediments. The resulting values of the hydraulic parameters of the riverbed sediments are very variable. The hydraulic gradient was often downward at places with mining activity, which indicates the infiltration of the surface water into the groundwater.
