Enterprise as a foreign direct investment

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je poskytnout úplný přehled o možnostech investování do zahraničí. V první, rešeršní, části práce popisuje teoretické přístupy k internacionalizaci a následně ukazuje, jaké existují možnosti při vstupu na zahraniční trhy. Tyto možnosti vstupů jsou rozděleny podle kapitálové náročnosti. Zde se jedná o vývozní a dovozní metody, formy nenáročné na kapitálové investice a kapitálově náročné vstupy podniků. Ve druhé části práce je popsána případová studie, kdy se společnost rozhodla expandovat na zahraniční trh pomocí přímé zahraniční investice, konkrétně investice na zelené louce. Tuto investici učinila z důvodu snížení výrobních nákladů a zvýšení flexibility v dodávkách svým zákazníkům. Zde práce popisuje ekonomické motivy společnosti k provedení této investice, dále její přípravnou a realizační fázi, včetně zdrojů financování. V závěru nastiňuje silné a slabé stránky investice.

Abstract:

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of investment opportunities abroad. In the first research part the thesis describes theoretical ways to internationalization and then shows the possibilities how to enter into the foreign markets. These options of entering are divided according to their capital demand. The categories are export and import methods, low demand capital forms and high demand capital forms. In the second part the thesis describes the case study, when the company decided to expand into foreign markets through foreign direct investment - greenfield investments. This investment was made to reduce production costs and increase the flexibility of delivery for its customers. In this part the thesis descrices the economic motives of the company to make this investment and the phases of the realization including sources of funding. In the end there are described strengths and weaknesses of the investment.
