Work motivation in tourism focusing generation X and generation Y

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá specifiky zaměstnávání pracovníků v cestovním ruchu, motivací k práci a generacemi X a Y. Práce má za cíl zjistit, zda se liší motivace k práci v cestovním ruchu mezi generacemi X a Y, jestli jsou specifika práce v cestovním ruchu pozitivním motivem pro práci v tomto odvětví a porovnat pracovní motivaci v cestovním ruchu mezi těmito dvěma generacemi. Hlavní teoretická východiska se zabývají motivačními teoriemi, charakteristikou obou zkoumaných generací a specifiky práce v oboru cestovního ruchu. K naplnění cílů práce byl zvolen primární výzkum, informace byly zjišťovány metodou hromadného dotazníkového šetření. Na základě vyvozených výsledků jsou v závěru práce doporučeny motivační přístupy pro zaměstnavatele v cestovním ruchu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the specific aspects of employment in tourism, motivation to work and generations X and Y. The main aim of the thesis is to find out if the motivation to work in tourism between generations X and Y differs. Partial goals are findings whether the specifics of tourism jobs are positive motives for work in this sector, and a comparison of work motivation in tourism between generations X and Y. The main theoretical bases deal with motivational theories, the characteristics of both generations and the specifics of work in tourism. Primary research was selected in order to meet the objectives of the thesis, the information was surveyed by mass questionnaire survey. As conclusion of the primary survey the motivation approaches for employers in tourism are stated at the end of the diploma thesis.
