Allometric relationships for above-ground biomass of young spruce stands in the Jeseníky Mts

Abstract:

Lesní porosty jsou významným úložištěm uhlíku. Z toho důvodu získávají v lesnické praxi uplatnění metody pro přesné stanovení biomasy lesních dřevin. Jednou z významných metod jsou alometrické vztahy pro odhad biomasy lesních dřevin. Jsou totiž dostatečně přesné, a přitom založené na jednoduše měřitelném parametru stromu. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, zda existují rozdíly v alometrických vztazích pro odhad nadzemní biomasy mladých smrkových porostů rostoucích na troficky stejném stanovišti (trofické stanoviště S – „svěží“), ale v rozdílné nadmořské výšce v oblasti Jeseníků (800 m n. m. a 1000 m n. m.). Byly provedeny regresní analýzy mezi jednotlivými frakcemi biomasy vzorníkových stromů (kmen, jehlice, živé větve, mrtvé větve, živé a mrtvé větve, celková nadzemní biomasa) a výčetní tloušťkou kmene vzorníkových stromů ze studovaných smrkových porostů na lokalitách Vidly a Osikový vrch. Až na některé výjímky dosáhla regresní analýza u všech frakcí velmi vysokou závislost. Porovnáním stanovené biomasy vzorníkových stromů a biomasy stanovené podle dostupného modelu bylo zjištěno, že celková nadzemní biomasa vykazovala vysokou shodu s dostupným modelem. Použitelnost stanovených alometrických vztahů pro jiné smrkové porosty je tedy možná. Rozdíly v alometrických vztazích stanovených pro studované lokality s různou nadmořskou výškou nevykazovaly významné rozdíly, což znamená, že nadmořská výška u těchto dvou lokalit neovlivnila tvorbu biomasy kmenů studovaných smrkových porostů.

Abstract:

Forest stands are an important carbon sink. For this reason, the method for accurate determination of forest tree biomass is gaining application in forestry practice. One of the important methods is allometric relations for estimating the biomass of forest trees. They are accurate enough, and yet based on an easily measurable parameter of the tree. The purpose of the bachelor thesis was to find out whether there are differencies in allometric relations for estimating the above-ground biomass of young spruce stands growing in trophically same habitat (trophic habitat S - “nutrient medium“) but at different altitudes in the Jeseníky Mountains (800 m above sea level and 1000 m above sea level). Regression analyzes were performed between the individual biomass fractions of the sample trees (stem, needles, live branches, dead branches, live and dead branches, total aboveground biomass) and the diameter at brast height of the sample tree stem from the studied spruce stands at Vidly and Osikový vrch. With some exceptions, the regression analysis achieved a very high dependence for all fractions. By comparing the determined biomass of the sample trees and the biomass determined according to the available model, it was found that the total aboveground biomass showed a high agreement with the available model. The applicability of the established allometric relations for other spruce stands is therefore possible. The differences in allometric relationships determined the studied localities with different altitudes did not show significant differences, which means that the altitude in these two localities did not affect the biomass formation of the stems of the studied spruce stands.
