Trailers of French dramatic movies: genre properties

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the trailers of French dramatic films and their characteristic features. The first part of the thesis presents history of the trailer itself. The thesis further deals with the importance of trailers, their advertising potential and subsequently analyzes six trailers of contemporary French films: 120 BPM, Dheepan, Jusqu'à la garde, Marie Heurtin, Mon roi and Samba. The aim of the thesis is to determine the principles on which the French trailers work with an emphasis on the style of speech. The presence of either dialogues, monologues or narrator is analyzed as well as other technical aspects of the videos since they form an important part of the persuasion of a potential viewer.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá trailery francouzských dramatických filmů a jejich charakteristickými vlastnostmi. V první části práce je představena historie samotného traileru. Práce se zabývá důležitostí traileru, jeho reklamním potenciálem a následně analyzuje šest trailerů současných francouzských filmů: 120 BPM, Dheepan, Jusqu’à la garde, Marie Heurtin, Mon roi a Samba. Cílem práce je zjistit, na jakých principech fungují francouzské trailery, s důrazem na styl řeči. Analyzuje přítomnost buď dialogů, monologů, připadne vypravěče, a taktéž další technické aspekty videí, které tvoří důležitou část v přesvědčení potencionálního diváka.
