Significant implications of the clarinet

Abstract:

Ve své práci se zabývám převážně současnou hudbou v kontextu s neustálým vývojem techniky ve hře na klarinet. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo seznámení se všemi možnými technikami hry a jejich nácvikem. Dalším důležitým aspektem práce bylo poukázat na pozici klarinetu v soudobé hudbě a na jeho přínos u současných skladatelů. Na současnou hudbu je v textu také brán zřetel v kontextu světových mezinárodních soutěží typu ARD Mnichov, mezinárodní hudební soutěž v Markneukirchen nebo Pražské jaro, kde je většinou podmínkou nacvičení nejtěžších moderních skladeb od autorů jakými jsou například Luciano Berio, Karel Husa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Tiberiu Olah či Edison Denisov. V textu jsou zmíněny dosud známé techniky a způsoby moderní hry na klarinet (mikrointervaly, multifonika, glissando, frulato, smorzato, slap tón, cirkulované dýchání), které se v dnešní hudbě často objevují. Na druhou stranu, dalším cílem bylo neopomenout techniky základní (rozsah, dynamika, legato, dýchání, barva zvuku,staccato) a zaměřit tak pozornost na neustálý technický vývoj, který je jistě nejen v klarinetové hře patrný. Tato práce by neměla sloužit jako metodická pomůcka, ale jako určité zasvěcení do současné hudby ve hře na klarinet 21. století.

Abstract:

In my study I deal mainly with contemporary music by context of clarinet´s technique´s continual progress. The main object of this paper is introducing to all potential techniques of the clarinet play and their practice. Another crucial issue of the study is to point at the current standing of the clarinet in contemporary music and to accent its constribution by modern-day composers. The current music is also considered in this study in the context of international competitions as ARD Munich, International Music Competition in Markneukirchen or Prague Spring. It is quite common that learning most difficult up to date pieces by composers as Luciano Berio, Karel Husa, Tiberiu Olah or Edison Denisov is required at these contests. In the study there are mentioned all known techniques and manners of present clarinet play (microdegree, multifonic, glissando, frulato, smorzato, slap tone, circulation breathing) that appear in contemporary music. On the other hand, we cannot leave aside the basic techniques (size, dynamimics, legato, breathing, sound´s colour, staccato) so we pay attention to the continual evolution of technique that is crucial not only in clarinet play. This paper should not be serving as a methodological instrument but as certain introduction to current music of clarinet in 21the century.
