Developing Guatemala’s economy with the example of the change of the Czech Republic from a communist regime to capitalism.

Abstract:

Každá země má právo na prosperující ekonomiku. V průběhu historie jsme se potýkali s fenoménem, ​​kdy se režimy snažily ovládnout ekonomiku země pomocí socialismu, a to i tím, že populaci vzali individuální svobodu. To byl případ České republiky, která v 90. letech dokázala světu transformaci ke kapitalismu zavedením kuponové privatizace. V Guatemale, stejně jako v mnoha dalších zemích Latinské Ameriky, jsme po staletí čelili chudobě a korupci a zdá se, že se věci nemění k dobrému. Musí existovat bod zvratu a rozvojové země musí pochopit, že socialismus nebyl a nikdy nebude cestou k rozvoji našich zemí. V tomto výzkumu uvidíme, jak důležité je mít dobře definovanou politickou strukturu, aby se ekonomika mohla rozvíjet, a také to, jak příliš zasahující vláda může negativně ovlivnit životy jednotlivců. Pro obyvatele Guatemaly je důležité, aby pochopili svou hodnotu jako jednotlivci, kteří jsou racionálně sobečtí, a začali hájit svá individuální práva na vytvoření společnosti s volnější vládou a laissez-faire kapitalismem.

Abstract:

Every single country has the right to have a developed economy. During history we have faced the phenomenon of people trying to control the economy of a country in a socialist way, even taking the individual freedom out of the population. That was the case of the Czech Republic, and back in the 90’s they were able to show the world a new rebirth in the economy was possible by implementing voucher privatization. In Guatemala, like many other countries from Latin America, we have faced poverty and corruption for centuries and things don’t seem to change for good. There must be a point of inflection where change comes and developing countries need to understand socialism wasn’t, and will never be the way to develop our countries. In this research we will see how important it is to have a well defined political structure for the economy to develop and also how government overreach can affect individuals’ lives in a negative way. It is important for Guatemalan people to understand their value as individuals being rationally selfish and start to defend their individual rights to create a society with a limited government and Laissez-Faire Capitalism.
