Analysis of determinants unemployment of people with disabilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze nezaměstnanosti osob se zdravotním postižením v České republice. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda je nezaměstnanost specifické skupiny osob se zdravotním postižením ovlivněna stejnými faktory jako nezaměstnanost ve zbytku populace ČR. Do modelu jsou zahrnuta panelová data ze 14-ti krajů Č v období let 2000-2015. V základním modelu, který zahrnuje všech 14 krajů, se vliv obecné nezaměstnanosti na nezaměstnanost OZP projevil jako signifikantní. Pokud se nezaměstnanost zvýší o 1%, zvýší se úroveň nezaměstnanosti OZP o 0,48%. Jako statisticky významné se dále projevily proměnné popisující vzdělání obyvatel v kraji či sektorové složení ekonomiky. Dále jsou kraje rozděleny do dvou skupin na základě průměrné míry nezaměstnanosti OZP ve sledovaném období a každá ze skupin je analyzována zvlášť. Ve skupině s nižší mírou nezaměstnanosti OZP je i velikost vlivu obecné nezaměstnanosti na vysvětlovanou proměnnou menší (0,43). Ve skupině s vyšší mírou nezaměstnanosti OZP je velikost tohoto vlivu větší (0,56). Ve druhé skupině krajů dosahují vyšších hodnot také velikosti efektů dalších proměnných a současně se jich více prokázalo jako statisticky významných.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of unemployment of people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. The objective is to analyse if this variable is determined by the same factors as unemployment in the general population. The model includes panel data from 14 regions of the Czech Republic in the period 2000-2015. In the basic model, which encompasses all 14 regions, the impact of general unemployment on the unemployment rate of disabled people has been shown to be significant. If general unemployment rises by 1%, the unemployment of disabled shall increase by 0.48%. Also, as statistically significant proved to be variables describing the education of the population in the region or the sectoral composition of the economy. Furthermore, the regions are divided into two groups based on the average unemployment rate of the disabled in the period under review and each of the groups has been analysed separately. In the group with lower unemployment rate, the magnitude of the impact of general unemployment on the explanatory variable is smaller (0.43). In the group with a higher unemployment rate, the magnitude of this impact is higher (0.55). In the second group of regions, the magnitudes of other variables also reach higher values and a higher number of these variables proved to be statistically significant
