Tea offer in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

This thesis is dealing with the analysis of tea supply in the Czech Republic and the attitude of tea consumers. The main goal of this thesis is to identify the supply of teas in the Czech Republic, especially within retail chains, restaurants and bars, tearooms, and tea shops. Part of the work is also to partly identify the attitude of the tea consumers. The work consists of theoretical, analytical, and suggestive part. In the theoretical part I am dealing with concepts such as the history of tea, tea growing and its cultivation, areas of tea growing in the world, types of tea, sorting, and classification of tea. At the end of the theoretical part, I deal with the composition of tea. In the analytical part I focus on the analysis of the offer of teas in retail chains, restaurants and bars, tearooms, and tea shops. I analysed the supply of teas in the Czech Republic from the perspective of types and producers of tea. I found out the offer of teas with the help of available information on the internet of the given sellers, by visiting stone shops and by my own observations. Furthermore, in this section I deal with the attitude of tea drinkers in the Czech Republic using an electronic Internet questionnaire. Based on this analysis, it was possible to evaluate the supply of teas in the Czech Republic and the tendencies and perspectives of tea drinkers. In the proposal part, I present recommendations that could help improve the offer in retail chains and restaurants. Additionally, a proposal has been attached for possible improvements in tearooms and specialised tea shops.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá analýzou ponuky čajov v Českej republike a postoju konzumentov pitia čaju. Hlavným cieľom diplomovej práce je identifikácia ponuky čajov v Českej republike, a to predovšetkým v rámci obchodných reťazcov, reštaurácií a barov, čajovní a obchodu s čajom. Súčasťou práce je čiastočne taktiež identifikácia postoja konzumentov čaju. Práca sa skladá z teoretickej, analytickej a návrhovej časti. V teoretickej časti sa venujem pojmom ako dejiny čaju, čajovník a jeho pestovanie, oblastiam pestovania čajovníka vo svete, druhy čajov, triedenie a klasifikácia čaju. V závere teoretickej časti sa venujem zloženiu čaju. V analytickej časti sa zameriavam na analýzu ponuky čajov v obchodných reťazcoch, reštauráciách a baroch, čajovní a obchodu s čajom. Analyzujem ponuku čajov v Českej republike z pohľadu druhov a výrobcov čaju. Ponuku čajov zisťujem pomocou dostupných informácií na internete daných predajcov, návštevou kamenných predajní a vlastným pozorovaním. Ďalej sa v tejto časti venujem aj postoju konzumentov pitia čaju na území Českej republiky pomocou elektronického internetového dotazníka. Na základe tejto analýzy bolo možné zhodnotiť ponuku čajov v Českej republike a taktiež postoje konzumentov pitia čaju. V návrhovej časti predkladám odporúčania, ktoré by mohli pomôcť zlepšiť ponuku v obchodných reťazcoch a reštauráciách. Prikladám aj návrh možného zlepšenia v čajovniach a špecializovaných obchodoch s čajom.
