Human Figure Drawing in People Diagnosed with Schizophrenia

Abstract:

The thesis deals with projective technique Human figure drawing test in people with schizophrenia. The aim was to identify specific features of the human figure drawings drawn by people with schizophrenia based on studying literature and observation of the pictures, and to demonstrate these features in the pictures. We selected 18 characteristics that were compared in the human figure drawings drawn by people with schizophrenia with pictures drawn by healthy people. We assumed that these characteristics would be present in the human figure drawings drawn by people with schizophrenia statistically significantly more often than in the pictures drawn by healthy persons. The research group consisted of 45 people with schizophrenia (25 men and 20 women) and the control group consisted of 45 people without the diagnosis (20 men and 25 women). After the statistical analysis, our hypothesis was confirmed in the following features: unusual positions of figures, unusual sizes of figures, dislocated symmetry, sketchiness, plane illustration, geometrical arrangement, poor sexual differentiation, omission of a part of the body, insufficient illustration of clothes, unusual displaying of eyes, poor illustration of mimics, unusual illustration of neck, unusual illustration of upper limbs, unusual illustration of fingers, unusual illustration of hair and bizarre illustration at all.

Abstract:

V tejto diplomovej práci sa zaoberáme projektívnou technikou Kresba ľudskej postavy u ľudí s diagnózou schizofrénie. Našim cieľom bolo na základe štúdia literatúry a pozorovania kresieb vymedziť špecifické znaky kresby postavy ľudí s diagnózou schizofrénie a preukázať tieto znaky v kresbách postavy ľudí so schizofréniou. Vymedzili sme 18 znakov, v ktorých sme porovnávali kresby postavy ľudí so schizofréniou s kresbami postavy zdravých ľudí. Predpokladali sme, že tieto znaky sa budú vyskytovať štatisticky významne častejšie v kresbách ľudí so schizofréniou ako v kresbách zdravých ľudí. Výskumný súbor tvorilo 45 ľudí s diagnózou schizofrénie (25 mužov a 20 žien) a kontrolný súbor tvorilo 45 ľudí bez tejto diagnózy (20 mužov a 25 žien). Po štatistickej analýze sa náš predpoklad potvrdil v nasledujúcich znakoch: neobvyklá poloha postavy, neobvyklá veľkosť postavy, narušená symetria, slabá prepracovanosť, ploché zobrazenie, geometrizácia, slabá pohlavná diferencovanosť, vynechanie časti tela, nedostatočné zobrazenie oblečenia, neobvyklé zobrazenie očí, slabé zobrazenie mimiky, neobvyklé zobrazenie krku, neobvyklé zobrazenie horných končatín, neobvyklé zobrazenie prstov, neobvyklé zobrazenie vlasov a bizarné stvárnenie.
