Significant Pianists of the 20th Century and their Interpretative Contribution

Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce se zabývá interpretačním přínosem vybraných klavíristů 20.století.Jako určitý fenomén uvádím samostatnou kapitolu č. 2 "Horowitz/Richter", kde šířeji pojednáváma zamýšlím se nad jejich popularitou.Mimořádné schopnosti vybraných klavíristů demonstruji na základě nahrávek mnouzvolených, kde prezentuji své postřehy a názory odborníků a uvádím důvod, čím byla jejichinterpretace významná (kapitola č.3 –„Ti ostatní“)V kapitole č.4 " Rozhovor s Martinem Kasíkem" se pak zabývám mj. i problematikouinterpretace obecně a kritériem významu „významný přínos“.Přínos práce spatřuji v připomenutí si významných interpretačních počinů klavíristů20.století, rychlé přístupnosti k poslechu na základě odkazů na internet a v neposlední řaděv obecném rozšíření schopnosti esteticky hodnotit a porovnat klavírní “golden age“s nynější klavírní interpretací, kterou v práci shledávám puritánštější a unifikovanější.Přínos práce spatřuji v připomenutí si významných interpretačních počinů klavíristů20.století, rychlé přístupnosti k poslechu na základě odkazů na internet a v neposlední řaděv obecném rozšíření schopnosti esteticky hodnotit a porovnat klavírní “golden age“s nynější klavírní interpretací, kterou v práci shledávám puritánštější a unifikovanější.

Abstract:

This master's thesis is aimed on the interpretative contribution of the selected pianists ofthe 20th century. As a certain phenomenon I present a separate chapter 2 - "Horowitz Richter",in which I discuss their popularity. The extraordinary abilities of those pianists arepresented with selected recordings along with opinions of experts, my viewpoints andreasons why their interpretation was significant (Chapter 3 - “The Others”)Chapter 4 contains an "Interview with Martin Kasík" where I focus on interpretation fromgeneral point of view and definition of the term „significant contribution“.The main benefactions of this thesis are reinvestigating exceptional interpretations ofpianists of the 20th century, instant accesibility to recordings thanks to web links and atlast but not least the ability to estetically compare interpretations of „golden age“ pianistswith contemporary ones, the latter seen as more puritan and more unified.
