Hop agricultural technology within the integrated hop production

Abstract:

Chmel již několik století patří k nejdůležitějším surovinám pro výrobu piva. Chmel má také léčebné účinky, kterých je využíváno ve fytoterapii a farmaceutickém průmyslu. Dále je v současné době chmel využíván pro výrobu doplňků stravy, které jsou notifikovány na Ministerstvu zemědělství. Literární část je zaměřena na hnojení a výživu chmele, popis jednotlivých operací ve chmelnici během vegetačního období chmele včetně sklizně. Zmíněna je také integrovaná produkce chmele jakožto moderní způsob hospodaření a možnosti boje proti chorobám a škůdcům v rámci integrované ochrany chmele. Součástí literární části je i pěstování chmele v rámci ekologického zemědělství. Práce navazuje na bakalářskou práci, jejímž cílem bylo stanovit kvalitativní ukazatele u odrůd Žatecký poloraný červeňák, Sládek a Premiant. Diplomová práce na tyto výsledky navazuje a jejím cílem bylo ze vzorků chmele odrůdy Žatecký poloraný červeňák od pěstitelů z hlavních chmelařských oblastí v České republice, které byly sklizeny v roce 2020 a 2021, stanovit a porovnat kvalitativní ukazatele. Vzorky chmele byly od čtyř pěstitelů – Karel Dittrich, Jiří Kejkrt, Tršická zemědělská, a.s. a JVR spol. s r.o. U jednotlivých vzorků chmele byla stanovena vlhkost podle normy ČSN 46 2520–3, obsah cizích a biologických příměsí podle norem ČSN 45 2520–4 a ČSN 46 2520–5, konduktometrická hodnota (KH) a z mechanického rozboru průměrné délka vřetene a průměrný počet segmentů vřetene. Z výsledků vyplývá, že vyšší hodnoty KH byly zaznamenány ve vzorcích chmele z roku 2020, kdy nejvyšší množství obsahoval chmel od pěstitele Karla Dittricha (4,24 % hm. v pův.). Výjimkou byl pěstitel Jiří Kejkrt, který měl v roce 2020 nižší KH (3,64 % hm. v pův.) oproti roku 2021 (3,87 % hm. v pův.). V roce 2021 měl nejvyšší KH chmel od Karla Dittricha, kdy KH byla 4,06 % hm. v pův. Nejnižší KH byla v roce 2021 zaznamenána u chmele od JVR spol. s r.o. (2,67 % hm. v pův.), což může být mj. stářím chmelnice (v roce 2021 měla již 37 let).

Abstract:

Hops have been one of the most important raw materials in beer production for several centuries. Also, hops have healing effects used in phytotherapy and in the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, hops are currently used for production of nutritional supplements, which are notified to the Ministry of Agriculture. The literary part is focused on the fertilization and nutrition of hops; it also describes individual processes in the hop garden during the growing season including hops harvest. The integrated production of hops is also mentioned as a modern way of farming and as a possibility of defence against diseases and pests in the integrated protection of hops. The cultivation of hops in organic farming i salso a part of the literary part. The work follows up on the bachelor thesis aiming to determine qualitative indicators for the the hop varieties Saaz, Sládek and Premiant. The diploma thesis builds on the results. Its aim is to determine and compare qualitative indicators of hop variety Saaz provided by growers from the main hop-growing areas in the Czech Republic based on the 2020 and 2021 harvest. Hop samples were provided by four growers-Karel Dittrich, Jiří Kejkrt, Tršická zemědělská, a.s. and company JVR Ltd. The humidity of individual hop samples was determined according to Czech Technical Norm (ČSN) 46 2520–3, the content of foreign and biological admixtures according to Czech Technical Norm (ČSN) 45 2520–4 and 46 2520–5, conductometric value, the average spindle length and the average number of spindle segments according to mechanical analysis. The results show that higher conductometric values were recorded in hop samples of 2020, while the highest conductometric value was contained in hops provided by the grower Karel Dittrich (4.24 % w. in the original). The grower Jiří Kejkrt was an exception. He had a lower conductometric value in 2020 (3.64 % w. in the original) compared to 2021 (3.87 % w. in the original). In 2021, Karel Dittrich’s hops showed the highest conductometric value of 4.06 % w. in the original. The lowest conductometric value was recorded in 2021 for hops by the company JVR Ltd. (2.67 % w. in the original), which might be caused by the age of the hop garden (it was 37 years old in 2021).
