Case management as a Method of Social Work Used in the Sphere of Care for Individuals with Mental Disorders

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem metody case managementu a analýzou jejího využití při práci s lidmi s duševním onemocněním. Část práce je věnována popisu duševního onemocnění, a to zejména s důrazem na popis psychotického onemocnění, dále je popisována metoda case managementu při práci s cílovou skupinou osob s duševním onemocněním. V další části se soustřeďuje na rodinu člověka s duševní nemocí a na potřeby lidí s duševním onemocněním, v poslední části pomocí případové studie konkrétního klienta vysvětluje využitelnost metody v praxi. Zde se práce zaměřuje nejen na samotný průběh práce v jednotlivých etapách spolupráce sociálního pracovníka a klienta, ale také na přínosy a překážky při využití této metody u osob s duševním onemocněním v podmínkách české legislativy.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to give description of a case management method and to analyze its use during professional work with clients with mental disease. Part of the thesis is devoted to the description of a mental illness itself with a special attention given to psychotic diseases. Further, the case management method is described in the context of work with a target group of clients with a mental disease. Next part of the thesis is devoted to a family context of these clients and their needs. In the last part of the theses, the potential applications of the method are discussed with the help of a case study. Here the main focus is placed upon a scope of work with the method itself within specific phases of cooperation of a social worker and a client, but also on the assets and difficulties that we are facing while using this method with mental diseased clients in a context of a Czech legislation.
