Monetary policy of the central bank in the early 21st century

Abstract:

This master thesis is focused on the monetary policy of the central bank in the 21st century. Each country has wearer's monetary policy - central bank. The central bank is the bank of banks due to the regulation of other banks, the Bank of the State because of accountability for legal tender in the country with a monopoly on the issue. Central banks are currently in market economies institutions that have their irreplaceable and indispensable place and function. The main and objective of the central bank's is internal and external stability of the currency. The first chapter is focused to banking and banking system of central banking, the central bank. It further analyzes the monetary policy of the central bank and its essence and the European Central Bank, the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England. Second chapter is about the European Union and Slovakia's entry into the Eurozone, Eurozone crisis, global financial crisis and steps of selected central banks in view of the current financial situation. Final, the third chapter focuses on the optimal management of monetary policy by the central bank which can significantly contribute to the solution of problems relating to banks. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and compare the monetary policy implemented by selected central banks in the current crisis and to draw attention to vulnerabilities in the management of monetary policy as a result of the current financial crisis.

Abstract:

Predkladaná diplomová práca je obsahovo zameraná na menovú politiku centrálnych bánk na začiatku 21. storočia. Každá krajina má nositeľa menovej politiky – centrálnu banku. Centrálna banka je bankou bánk z dôvodu regulácie ostatných bánk, je bankou štátu z dôvodu zodpovedania za zákonné platidlo v danom štáte s monopolom na jeho emisiu. Centrálne banky sú v súčasnosti v trhových ekonomikách inštitúciami, ktoré majú svoje nezastupiteľné a neodmysliteľné miesto a funkcie. Hlavným a najdôležitejším cieľom centrálnej banky je vnútorná a vonkajšia stabilita meny. Prvá kapitola sa zaoberá bankovníctvom a bankovým systémom centrálneho bankovníctva – centrálnej banky. Bližšie analyzuje menovú politiku centrálnej banky a jej podstatu, Európsku centrálnu banku, Federálny rezervný systém a Bank of England. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá Európskou úniou a vstupom Slovenska do Eurozóny, krízou Eurozóny, svetovou finančnou krízou a krokmi vybraných centrálnych bánk počas finančnej krízy. Posledná, tretia kapitola je zameraná na optimálne riadenie menovej politiky zo strany centrálnej banky, ktoré môžu vo významnej miere prispieť k riešeniu problematiky riadenia bánk. Cieľom diplomovej práce je analyzovať a porovnať menovú politiku vykonávanú vybranými centrálnymi bankami v čase súčasnej krízy a upriamiť pozornosť na zraniteľné miesta riadenia menovej politiky ako dôsledku súčasnej finančnej krízy.
