The importance of cyber security in the new media's age

Abstract:

Problematika ochrany informačních infrastruktur před kybernetickými hrozbami je velmi aktuální a její význam neustále roste. Zároveň se zvyšuje tlak na vytvoření systematického řešení této problematiky v rovině legislativní, organizační, metodické a technické, a to i pro oblast nových médií a kyberkultury. Diplomová práce vymezuje fenomén označovaný pojmem kyberprostor, charakterizuje komponenty, které kyberprostor vytvářejí, nastiňuje roli „nových médií“ v kyberprostoru a představuje klasifikace a projevy těchto médií coby specifické součásti kyberprostoru. Práce se soustřeďuje zejména na bezpečnostní problémy, související s uplatněním nových médií v kyberprostoru, a kriticky analyzuje příklady útoků v oblasti nových médií (od rané kyberkultury po současnost) s potenciálem vysokého rizika. Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat současný stav bezpečnosti IT se zaměřením na oblast nových médií a nastínit trendy vývoje zabezpečování kyberprostoru v této oblasti. Součástí práce je vypracování vlastního prototypu přístupu k zabezpečování nových médií, vyhovujícího trendům prosazovaným evropskou agenturou ENISA (European Network and information Security Agency).

Abstract:

The issue of protection of information infrastructures against cyber threats is current, and its importance is growing. It also increases the pressure to find a systematic solution of this problem in terms of legislative, organizational, methodological and technical, and also for the area of new media and cyberculture. This thesis defines the term called cyberspace, describes the components that make cyberspace, outlines the role of " new media" in cyberspace presents a classification and manifestations of these media as a specific part of cyberspace. The thesis focuses mainly on security issues related to the application of new media in cyberspace and critically analyzes examples of attacks in the area of new media (from early cyberculture´s age to present) with possibility of high risk. The thesis aim is to analyze the current situation of IT security with a focus on new media and to make a outline of trends in cybersecurity in this area. Part of this work is to develop a prototype of ideal cybersecuity of new media complying with the trends promoted by the European Agency ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency).
