Expressions of Emotional Deprivation of People with Mental Retardation in Institutional Care

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda existuje souvislost mezi vybranými projevy citové deprivace u mentálně postižených osob v ústavní péči a množstvím kontaktů s jejich primární rodinou. Za projevy citové deprivace bylo vybráno agresivní a depresivní chování. Korelační výzkum byl proveden na základě posuzování chování 33 mentálně postižených osob umístěných v ústavní péči s rozdílným množstvím svých kontaktů s primární rodinou. Bylo zjištěno, že se zvyšujícím se množstvím kontaktů mentálně postižených osob s rodinou se zvyšuje výskyt agresivního a depresivního chování.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to determine whether there is a link between the selected signs of emotional deprivation of people with mental retardation in institutional care and the frequency of contact with their immediate family. Aggressive and depressive behaviour were selected as signs of emotional deprivation. The correlation analysis was conducted based on evaluation of the behaviour of 33 people with mental retardation in institutional care with different frequency of contact with their immediate families. It was proven that as the frequency of contact of people with mental retardation with their families increased, the occurrence of aggressive and depressive behaviour increased simultaneously.
