The impact of interventions and speeding up the delivery on its course and on the expectant mother

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá mapováním současné péče poskytované ženám při porodu zejména v porodnických zařízeních a hodnocením vlivu lékařských zásahů na průběh porodu a na pocity rodičky. Dotazníkovou metodou je hodnocena četnost jednotlivých zákroků (dirupce vaku blan, epiziotomie, porod pomocí kleští a pomocí vakuumextraktoru) a celkové pocity rodičky z průběhu porodu. Na základě informací získaných z dotazníku bylo zjišťováno, zda existuje závislost mezi četností jednotlivých zákroků, délkou porodu a dalšími aspekty porodního procesu. Dále se práce zabývá hodnocením zkušeností žen z porodu a vlivu vedení porodu na vztah rodičky a dítěte. Z výzkumu bylo zjištěno, že vyšší četnost lékařských zákroků vede k horší celkové zkušenosti z porodu a že zákroky jsou často prováděny přes nesouhlas rodičky. Neumožnění jiné polohy pak vede k delšímu porodu a k vyšším četnostem zásahů. Dále bylo zjištěno, že nedostatek času na sblížení matky s dítětem po porodu vede k negativním důsledkům na jejich vztah.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with the actual situation of providing care to the women giving birth especially in a hospital. It evaluates the impact of the interventions and speeding up the delivery on the delivery process and on the feelings of the expectant mother. The frequency of the individual interventions (amniotomy, episiotomy, assisted delivery) as well as the general feelings of the mothers have been evaluated using a questionaire. The relationships between the interventions and the individual aspects of the delivery process have been found based on the questionaire. Furthermore the thesis assesses women‘s experiences with delivery and the impact of the management of labor on an attachement between the mother and child. From the research it was found that higher number of interventions causes worse general feelings from the delivery and that interventions are freqently performed despite of the disagreement of expectant mother. Disallowing of the different position leads to the longer delivery process and to the higher frequency of interventions. Furthermore was found that the lack of time for an attachement between the mother and child causes a negative effects on their relationship.
