Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje kooperativnímu učení v kontextu výuky anglického jazyka v českém vyšším sekundárním vzdělávání. Práce si klade za cíl pomocí kvalitativního dotazníku prozkoumat postoje jedenácti učitelů ke kooperativnímu učení a jejich zkušenosti s touto metodou v prezenční i distanční výuce. Práce si dále klade za cíl pomocí skupinových rozhovorů prozkoumat názory a postoje šestnácti studentů a umožnit tak porovnání s perspektivou jejich učitelů. Dotazníkové šetření odhalilo, že kooperativní učení v prezenční výuce hojně používalo 10 z 11 dotazovaných učitelů. Dále bylo zjištěno, že kooperativní učení je možné efektivně implementovat i do distanční výuky, je ovšem nutné jej pečlivě připravit a opatrně strukturovat. Většina zúčastněných vnímala prezenční kooperativní učení velmi pozitivně, nicméně postoje k němu během distanční výuky byly spíše negativní. Učitelé se kriticky vyjadřovali zejména k náročnosti jeho online podoby a nespokojenost studentů se většinou týkala nestrukturované online spolupráce. Jelikož se kooperativním učením na českých středních školách zabývá velmi malé množství studií, snaží se tato diplomová práce rozšířit znalosti o dané problematice.

Abstract:

This thesis explores cooperative learning (CL) in the context of Czech higher-secondary ELT. It aims to investigate the perspectives of eleven teachers and sixteen students. The teachers completed a qualitative internet-based questionnaire which inquired about their experience with and attitudes to both onsite and online CL. In addition, semi-structured group interviews were conducted with the students which aimed at exploring their views of CL. These perspectives were compared and contrasted to gain a more complex picture of the studied area. The findings indicate that CL was frequently used by 10 out of 11 participating teachers in their onsite classes. The results also show that CL can be effectively implemented in the Czech online learning environment, although special attention should be paid to its purposeful design. Furthermore, most of the participating teachers and students perceived onsite CL very positively; however, their attitudes towards online CL were rather negative. While teachers’ criticism was aimed at the challenging nature of the online design, students’ dissatisfaction was mainly directed at unstructured online cooperation. Since the amount of prior research on onsite and online CL in Czech higher-secondary schools is somewhat limited, this thesis attempts to widen the knowledge about this method.
