Comparison of selected freight forwarding databases on the European market

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na spediční databanky coby nástroje pro optimalizaci silniční nákladní přepravy. Cílem práce je vytvořit ucelený přehled a porovnání vybraných spedičních databank na evropském trhu s dopravními informacemi. Představuje jak zavedené, tak nové firmy v oboru, a následně je porovnává dle předem stanovených kritérií (např. ceník, druh a počet nabídek, geografické rozdíly, program/aplikace, jejich lokalizace atd.). Výsledkem práce je přiblížení pěti zavedených a dvou nových firem, jejich vzájemné srovnání, a učení jejich slabých a silných stránek.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on freight forwarding databases as tools for optimization of road freight transport. The aim of this thesis is to create a comprehensive overview and comparison of selected freight forwarding databases on the European traffic information market. It introduces both established and new companies in the field, and subsequently compares them according to predefined criteria (e.g. prices, type and number of offers, geographical differences, program/application, localization, etc.). The result of this thesis is a presentation of five established and two new companies, their comparison, and definition of their strengths and weaknesses.
