Domestic Violence Against Men in Nigeria: A Case of Ondo State

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to explore men's experience of living in an abusive relationship with their female partners and understanding better the coping strategies that keep their relationship in a patriarchal society, and provide social work programs to assist men in their romantic relationships. Nigeria is a patriarchal society where men are dying in silence due to their abusive partners. However, this study qualitatively understands men's lived experiences, giving men victims of domestic violence the privilege of sharing their individual stories from the beginning to ending and developing programs that promote a healthy lifestyle in a romantic relationship.
