The Pragmatic Language Level of Seniors Living in the Institution of Welfare Services

Abstract:

Diplomová práce analyzuje pragmatickou jazykovou rovinu seniorů žijících v zařízení sociálních služeb, konktrétně v domově pro seniory. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol, které pojednávají o komunikaci, jazykových rovinách, pragmatice, řečové etiketě, ale také o stáří a specifikách komunikace se seniory. Empirická část se pak zaměřuje na samotnou analýzu pragmatické jazykové roviny seniorů, přičemž výzkumné šetření je kvalitativního charakteru a využívá metodu případových studií.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis analyses the pragmatic language level of seniors living in the institution of welfare services, specifically at old people’s home. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters which deal with communication, language levels, pragmatics, and speech etiquette but also with the old age and communication with seniors and its specifics. The empiric part is focused on the analysis of pragmatic language level of seniors where the research is of qualitative character and it uses the method of case studies.
