Surgical treatment of selected types of strabismus

Abstract:

V předkládané disertační práci jsou prezentovány výsledky tří komparativních studií, které se zabývají srovnáním konkrétních operačních technik u vybraných komplikovaných typů strabismu. U pacientů s Duanovým retrakčním syndromem I jsme zhodnotili dlouhodobou účinnost zákroku typu jednostranné retropozice-resekce a srovnali jí s oboustrannou retropozicí mediálních přímých svalů. U pacientů s disociovanou vertikální deviací a hyperfunkcí dolního šikmého svalu jsme prospektivně analyzovali dlouhodobé výsledky anteriorizace a myektomie dolního šikmého svalu. Ve skupině pacientů s vrozenými a získanými parézami n. abducens jsme zhodnotili efektivitu a bezpečnost modifikované transpoziční operace dle Hummelsheima.

Abstract:

The thesis is presenting the results of threee comparative studies that are dealing with particular surgical approaches in selected types of strabismus. In patients with Duane retraction syndrome I we assessed the long-term effectivity of unilateral recession-resection procedure in comparision with bilateral medial rectus recessions. In patients with dissociated vertical deviations and inferior oblique overactions we evaluated whether anterior transposition improves the surgical outcome compared with myectomy of the inferior oblique muscle. In the group of patients with congenital and acquired abducent palsy we assessed the effectivity and reliability of the Hummelsheim transposition procedure.
