Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá hudobným žánrom známym ako grunge. Analyzuje grunge z sociologického hľadiska ako subkultúru mládeže 90-tych rokov spojenú so štátom Washington. Snaží sa zistiť hudobný pôvod tohto žánru, ako sa tento žáner vyvíjal a ako vymrel. Zaoberá sa správaním členov tejto subkultúry. Snaží sa zistiť spojenie medzi grungeom a Generáciou X. Študuje prepojenie medzi subkultúrami a mainstreamom.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis concerns itself with the musical phenomenon known as Seattle sound or grunge. It analyzes Seattle sound from the sociological viewpoint as a youth subculture of the 90s tied with the State of Washington. It studies the musical origins of the genre, how the genre developed over time and how it eventually died out. It studies the behavior of the members of the subculture. It tries to discern the connection between Seattle sound and Generation X. It studies the connection between subcultures and the mainstream.
