New trends and optimization in the translation of digital texts on the example of the company Leo Express

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is to describe new trends in digital text translation and to present their use in the process of website localization. The thesis will focus on the translation and optimization of the website of the passenger railway company Leo Express for the German market. It will not only describe some aspects of website localization, but also the peculiarities of the most frequently used text types and their translation strategies. The result of this work will be a translation with a broad commentary, which can be used to work with similar texts and websites not only in the field of transport and travel. At the same time, the conclusions of the practical analysis of various trends in the translation of digital texts will be presented.

Abstract:

Ziel meiner Arbeit ist es, neue Trends in der Übersetzung digitaler Texte zu beschreiben und ihre Anwendung im Prozess der Website-Lokalisierung zu erläutern. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der Übersetzung und Optimierung der Website des Eisenbahnunternehmens Leo Express für den deutschen Markt. Dabei werden nicht nur Teilaspekte der Website-Lokalisierung beschrieben, sondern auch die Besonderheiten der am häufigsten verwendeten Textsorten und deren Übersetzungsstrategien. Das Ergebnis dieser Arbeit ist eine Übersetzung mit ausführlichem Kommentar, die für die Arbeit mit ähnlichen Texten und Websites nicht nur im Bereich Verkehr und Reisen verwendet werden kann. Gleichzeitig werden Schlussfolgerungen aus der praktischen Analyse verschiedener Tendenzen bei der Übersetzung digitaler Texte vorgestellt.
