The concept of logos in Clement of Alexandria

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na pojem logos u Klementa Alexandrijského. Na základě vybrané sekundární literatury se snaží zmapovat chápání a užívání pojmu logos Klementem Alexandrijským v jeho spisech. Pro lepší pochopení tématu dále nastíní souvislosti chápání tohoto pojmu v tradici židovské filosofie v tomto případě zastoupené Filonem Alexandrijským. Bude se také krátce věnovat pozdějšímu chápání pojmu logos v kruhu křesťansky smýšlejících autorů a oficiálnímu postoji církve k těmto pojetím.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the concept of logos in Clement of Alexandria. On the basis of selected secondary literature, it tries to map the understanding and use of the term logos by Clement of Alexandria in his writings. For a better understanding of the topic, he will outline the context of the understanding of this concept in the tradition of Jewish philosophy, in this case represented by Philo of Alexandria. It will also be briefly devoted to the later understanding of the concept of logos in the circle of Christian-minded authors and the official attitude of the church to these concepts.
