The History of Extended Vocal Techniques and their Use in the Czech Music Scene

Abstract:

Cílem práce je představit českým interpretům (zejména zpěvákům) rozšířené hlasové techniky, které na české hudební scéně dosud zastávají relativně marginální pozici. Práce mapuje historii těchto technik a jejich používání; ve své druhé části se zaměřuje na vybrané interprety, kteří se těmto technikám na poli české hudební scény aktivně věnují. Uvedení vybraných sólistů si klade za cíl konkrétně poukázat na možnosti praxe těchto technik.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to introduce Czech performers (especially singers) to the widespread vocal techniques that have so far occupied a relatively marginal position on the Czech music scene. The work maps the history of these techniques and their use; in its second part it focuses on selected performers who are actively involved in these techniques in the Czech music scene. The introduction of the selected soloists aims to specifically point out the possibilities of the practice of these techniques.
