This diploma thesis deals with fairy-tale elements and vampire themes in selected works of Angela Carter and Stephenie Meyer. It consists of theory and literary analysis. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá prvky pohádek a upíří tématikou ve vybraných dílech od Angely Carter a Stephenie Meyer. Práce obsahuje teoretickou část a literární analýzu. První kapitoly seznámí čtenáře se základní terminologií, která bude v této diplomové práci použita a přiblíží nám životy a díla obou autorek.
