The New Circus in the Czech theatre scene

Abstract:

Inspirací pro vznik této bakalářské práce je rozkvět žánru nového cirkusu, který potvrzuje narůstající množství artistů, uměleckých skupin a samotných produkcí nového cirkusu v České republice. Jednotlivé kapitoly bakalářské práce jsou rozděleny do tří částí. První část je zaměřena na historický vývoj nového cirkusu v Evropě se zaměřením na rozvoj žánru v České republice. Vymezuje terminologii práce a pojmenovává rozdíly mezi cirkusem tradičním a novým. Zpracována je tak informativně a schematicky. Druhá část mapuje informace, údaje a data se zaměřením na novocirkusové aktivity v České republice. Přináší vhled do rozměrnosti umělecké aktivity žánru, ať už jde o odstraňování pomyslných hranic mezi novocirkusovými metodami, nebo vzrůstající propojení živého umění a nových technologií, přičemž tato syntéza se v současnosti zdokonaluje velmi rychlým tempem. Třetí část je zaměřena na mezinárodní spolupráci, která se v Evropě pro nový cirkus vytváří, a na skutečnost, jaké možnosti lze využít pro rozvoj umělecké tvorby, edukace a financování v této oblasti. Práce by ve výsledku měla být strukturovaný soubor, z něhož mohou čerpat studenti uměleckých škol a odborná veřejnost.

Abstract:

The inspiration for this bachelor's thesis is the heyday of contemporary circus. This heyday is confirmed by the rising number of artists, artistic groups, and contemporary productions within the Czech Republic. Individual chapters of the thesis are divided into three parts. The first part is focused on the historical development of the contemporary circus in Europe with a focus for the development of the genre in the Czech Republic. The thesis defines the terminology of this field and focuses on the differences between traditional and contemporary circus. The second part maps information, data with the focus on contemporary circus activities in the Czech Republic. It brings insight into the dimensionality of the artistic activities of the genre. For example, removing the imaginary boundaries between contemporary circus methods, or increasing the new technologies. The third part is focused on international cooperation in Europe for contemporary circus creations, the education and funding in the area. The result of the bachelor's thesis should be the structured file from which students of art schools and the professional community can draw.
