Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá katedrálou v arménskom meste Talin, datovanou do 7. storočia. Bádatelia k tomuto chrámu doposiaľ pristupovali z čiste formalistického hľadiska. V jeho okolí neboli vykonané žiadne archeologické vykopávky. Analýza okolitých monumentov ako aj zachovaných fragmentov fresky v apside však poskytuje dôležité svedectvo o pôvodnej funkcii tohoto chrámu. Táto práca sa zároveň bližšie zaoberá freskami v apside, pre ktoré navrhuje hneď tri nové možnosti interpretácie.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with the 7th century cathedral located in Armenian city of T’alin. The previous research approached the topic mostly from the formalistic point of view. The archaeological excavations in the area never took place. Despite that, the fragments of mural preserved in the church, as well as the surrounding monuments give an important testimony about the original function of the cathedral. This thesis also deals with the mural in the apse of the cathedral, for which three new ways of interpretation were proposed.
