Jeden z cieľov tejto práce je zamerať sa na príbeh Irene Morganovej, a jej odmietnutie uvoľniť svoje miesto v medzištátnom autobuse belochovi. Ďalej sa táto práca zameria na dôvody, prečo sa symbolom hnutia za občianske práva Afroameričanov stala Rosa Parksová a nie niekto ako Irene Morganová napriek tomu, že veľa podobných foriem odporu voči rasovým zákonom sa odohralo ďaleko pred Parksovou. One of the intentions of this work is to focus on the story of Irene Morgan’s refusal to give up her seat to a white passenger on an interstate bus. It will then focus on the reason why Rosa Parks, and not someone like Irene Morgan, became one of the symbols of the Civil Rights Movement, despite the fact that many other acts of resistance took place before hers, starting with the act of Irene Morgan …more
