The use of social networking by adolescents and its impact on the quality of communication with their parents

Abstract:

S rozvojem internetu v posledních letech dochází k významným proměnám sociálního světa mladých lidí. Kompilační část této práce podává ucelený přehled specifik virtuálního světa. Poukazuje přitom na důsledky projevující se v mnoha oblastech každodenního života dospívajících, v uznávaných hodnotách, postojích a jejich myšlení. Působením moderních technologií dochází také ke změnám komunikačního chování, jakož i způsobů řešení sociálních situací. Úlohou empirické části této práce je zjistit, zda a jaké změny vnímají rodiče v komunikaci se svými adolescentními dětmi, které jsou aktivními uživateli internetu, zejména sociálních sítí. Použití kvalitativního designu umožňuje zachytit obraz sociální reality v oblasti dané problematiky.

Abstract:

With the development of the internet in recent years there has been significant transformations in the social world of young people. A compilation of this thesis gives a comprehensive overview of the specifics of the virtual world. It refers to the repercussions in many different areas of everyday life of adolescents in universal values, attitudes, and their thinking. Modern technologies couse changes in communication behaviors and ways of solving social situations. The role of the empirical part of this thesis is to determine whether and what changes are perceived by parents in communicating with their adolescent children us active users of the internet, especially social networks. Using qualitative design allows to capture an image of social reality of the issues.
