Protection of forest tree species against the hemiparasitic mistletoe (Viscum album) by the application of growth stimulators

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku chemické likvidace jmelí bílého (Viscum album L.) a to pomocí aplikace rostlinných fytohormonů stimulujících růst. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části: na zpracování dosavadních informací formou literárního přehledu dané problematiky a následně na praktické testování použití chemické obrany dřevin aplikací dvou přípravků na bázi na růstových stimulátorů formou postřiku přímo na jedince jmelí bílého (Viscum album L.). Aplikace byla provedena ve dvou fázích, a to na podzim a na konci zimy, na dvou odlišných lokalitách a několika taxonech dřevin s cílem určit účinnost chemického ošetření. Po aplikaci byl prováděn monitoring všech ošetřených jedinců a následné vyhodnocení účinnosti postřiku. V průběhu práce byl prokázán odlišný způsob působení a rozdílná účinnost použitých rostlinných fytohormonů. Jeden typ fytohormonu likvidoval téměř 95 % ošetřeného jmelí, ovšem druhý pouze necelých 50 %, zbylá část ošetřeného jmelí za určitý časový interval regenerovala.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of chemical removal of mistletoe (Viscum album L.) by the application of plant growth-promoting phytohormones. The work is divided into two parts: an overview of existing information in the form of a literature review and then the practical testing of mistletoe chemical control by the application of two preparations based on growth stimulants in the form of spraying on mistletoe (Viscum album L.) individuals. The application was performed in two phases, in autumn and at the end of winter, at two different localities and in several tree taxa, in order to determine the effectiveness of the chemical treatment. After the application, monitoring of all treated individuals and subsequent evaluation of spraying efficiency was performed. During the work, a different mode of action and a different effectiveness of used plant phytohormones were demonstrated. One type of phytohormone removed almost 95% of treated mistletoe, but the other eliminated only less than 50%, the rest of the treated mistletoe regenerated in a certain time interval.
