Assessment of home fall risk among senior citizens

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou rizik pádu v domácím prostředí. Cílem této práce bylo vyhodnotit nejčastější rizika pádu u seniorů v domácím prostředí. Pro splnění hlavního cíle byly zvoleny také dílčí cíle: Zjistit nejčastější příčiny pádů u seniorů v domácím prostředí a zjistit informovanost seniorů o rizicích pádu v domácím prostředí. Teoretická část popisuje vymezení stáří a změny ve stáři, příčiny, rizika a důsledky pádů. Praktická část byla popsána na základě dotazníkového šetření. Cílový vzorek respondentů tvořilo 60 seniorů, kteří utrpěli úraz následkem pádu v domácím prostředí. Pro přehlednost výsledků je každá otázka z dotazníku zpracována do tabulek a grafů. Po zhodnocení výsledků byly popsány nejčastější vnější a vnitřní rizika pádu pro seniory v domácím prostředí. Závěrem práce byl vytvořen edukační materiál pro seniory informující o nejčastějších rizicích pádu v domácím prostředí.

Abstract:

The research work examines (looks at) the problematics of the risk of falling in the home environment. The goal of this work was to evaluate the most common risks for falls of seniors in the home environment. Three sub-parts of the goal were chosen in order to reach the main goal: to find out the most common causes of falls of seniors in the home environment and find out the knowledge seniors have about the risk of falls in the home environment; the theoretical part describes the limitation of age and changes in age, and causes, risks and consequences of falls; the practical part has been described based on results obtained by questionnaire research. The goal sample of respondents was formed by sixty seniors who suffered injuries as a consequence of falling in the home environment. For clarity of results, every question in the questionnaire was processed into tables and graphs. After evaluating the results, the most common external and internal risks for falls for seniors in the home environment were described. Due to the outcome (results) of the research, educational materials for seniors informing them about the most common risks for falls in the home environment has been created.
