Language and style in Erik Tabery's Respekt editorials and commentaries

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá jazykem a stylem komentářů a editorialů Erika Taberyho, které byly vydány v různých číslech týdeníku Respekt v roce 2019. V teoretické části je vymezen rozdíl mezi zpravodajstvím a publicistikou a charakterizován publicistický funkční styl a jeho žánry. Dále je v práci představena osoba novináře Erika Taberyho. Praktická část se věnuje analýze jazykových prostředků, které se vyskytují v patnácti komentářích a čtrnácti editorialech, které byly publikovány ve čtrnácti číslech týdeníku Respekt. Kromě jednotlivých textů je porovnáván i jazyk a styl těchto dvou žánrů. Zkoumána je také obsahová souvislost mezi analyzovanými texty.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on language and style of commentaries and editorials which have been published in weekly magazine Respekt in 2019. The theoretical part explains the difference between news and journalism and defines publicistic style and his genres. Furthermore there is an introduction of journalist Erik Tabery. The practical part deals with the analysis of the language instruments, which are used in fifteen commentaries and fourteen editorials that have been published in fourteen issues of weekly magazine Respekt. Besides individual texts there is a comparison of laguage and style of these two genres. The thesis also examines the context between analysed texts.
