Commented translation of a non-literary text from Spanish into Czech (field: Medicine): TOBACCO, HEALTH, YOUTH

Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis was the translation of a professional text from Spanish into Czech language and its subsequent analysis. The text comes from the field of medicine and deals with the issue of smoking and its undesirable effects on our health. The diploma thesis is divided into four main parts. In the first part there is a translation of a selected text, which is structured in a mirror form for a better orientation. Afterwards follows a language analysis of the original text, which not only looks at its general characteristics, but also analyzes it from a phonological, morphosyntactic and lexico-semantic point of view. The third part of the thesis is a commentary on the applied translation procedures and strategies and also deals with problems that arose due to the high level of expertise of the source text. The last chapter consists of a terminological glossary, which includes 45 expert expressions selected from the original text. The result of the work is a Czech translation of the non-literary, untranslated Spanish text and its detailed language analysis.

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce byl překlad odborného textu ze španělského jazyka do jazyka českého a jeho následná analýza. Text pochází z oblasti medicíny a zabývá se problematikou kouření a jeho nežádoucích účinků na naše zdraví. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na čtyři hlavní části. V první části se nachází samotný překlad vybraného textu, který je pro lepší orientaci strukturován zrcadlovou formou. Dále následuje jazyková analýza originálního textu, která si všímá nejen jeho obecné charakteristiky, ale rozebírá jej také z fonologického, morfosyntaktického a lexikálně-sémantického hlediska. Třetí část práce představuje komentář použitých překladatelských postupů a strategií a věnuje se také problémům, které se v něm vzhledem k vysoké odbornosti výchozího textu objevily. Poslední kapitola se skládá z terminologického glosáře, který zahrnuje 45 odborných výrazů vybraných z originálního textu. Výsledkem práce je český překlad neliterárního, doposud nepřeloženého španělského textu a jeho detailní jazyková analýza.
