Problematika ohledání místa činu je velmi obsáhlá a složitá a ohledání místa činu je klíčovým pojmem pro kriminalistiku. Ohledání v souvislosti s trestním řízením je samostatným procesním úkonem a je upraveno v trestním řádu.
