Everydayness of noblewomen in the first half of 20th century in the example of Countess Mary Josefina Kinska

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se věnuje tématu každodenního života urozených žen v první polovině 20. století, a to na příkladu hraběnky Marie Josefíny Kinské (*1874 1946). Hlavní aspkety, kterými se tato práce zabývá, jsou volnočasové aktivity šlechtičny, jako byly lovy a hony, plesy a bály, návštěvy přátel či salonů, cestování a v neposlední řadě i neradostnými stránkami života jako byly nemoci, strasti a smrt. Celá práce je založena na archivním výzkumu korespondence mezi hraběnkou a jejím bratrem Františkem Josefem Kinským (*1876 1975).

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the everyday life of noblewomen in the first half of the 20th century, focused on the person of Countess Maria Josefína Kinská (* 1874 1946). The main aspects of the research are the leisure activities of a noblewoman such as hunts, balls, visits, salons, travelling and the last part of this work is focused on illnesses, suffering and deaths of of this noble house. The whole work is based on the archival research of the correspondence between the Countess and her brother František Josef Kinský (* 1876 1975).
